COLLINS FAMILY CEMETERY


Location: It is on U.S. 1 in Toombs County, not far
from the Emanuel County line, north of the area known
as Aaron's Store.


These are all the inscriptions in the cemetery.  I'm
sure there are other burials there, but loggers have
ruined this cemetery as they have so many others.


Elias Wilkes
b. July 8, 1824
d. July 21, 1884


Mary C. Wilkes
b. November 2, 1828
d. June 10, 1862
(beside Elias)


(Near Mary is a cross which has been put up in recent
years to a sunken area; on it is written Unknown.)


William Hendley
b. January 12, 1868
d. February 1, 1885


Andrew S. Collins
b. November 16, 1826
d. May 22, 1880


Thomas J. Collins
b. October 30, 1854
d. May 23, 1880

(The above two graves are inside an iron fence; on
the gate is: A.S. Collins & Son.  Although there is
room inside this fence for at least two more adult
graves, it appears there are no more graves here.)


Susan Collins
b. September 25, 1830
d. March 14, 1912
(Her grave is outside the fence on the side near
Andrew S. Collins.)


A.S. Collins
b. January 23, 1861
d. April 17, 1910


W.D. Collins
b. July 7, 1886
d. April 17, 1910
(The above two inscriptions are on either side of a
common stone, but there are two separate footstones
with their initials.)
