A native of Laurens County, he had lived in Toombs County for 30 years and was a son of the late Jim and Sallie Huff Mimbs He was a farmer and a member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Maybelle W. Mimbs of Lyons; a daughter, Mrs. D. W. Gay of Brunswick; six brothers, Elbert of Dublin; Thurmond of Moultrie, Tommy of Lakeland, Fla., Claude of Lyons, and Ellis and J. B. of Uvalda; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Mimbs were held at 3pm Monday from the Harden's Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Foy Spivey of Dublin officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Edenfield of Vidalia. Interment was in Harden's Chapel Cemetery. Trapnell-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arangements. Additional Comments: Lonnie was born in Apr 1905. Georgia death certificate #016000. His first wife was Evie Wood Mimbs and his second wife was Martha Mabell Williams Mimbs.
