Dec 21-----Gordon Mixon, 51, one of the largest-scale tobacco and cotton farmers in the area, died in a local hospital Saturday following a heart attack Tuesday. A native of Toombs County, he was the son of the late Jack Mixon and a member of the Lyons Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Belle Tyson Mixon; one son, Emory Maxwell; three brothers, George Mixon of Augusta, Lester Mixon of Lyons, and Herman Mixon of Chicago; four sisters, Mrs. Leona Tyson of Vidalia, Mrs. Muriel Harvey of Reidsville, Mrs. Nadoe Price of Lyons, and Mrs. Sally McWee of Augusta; and two grandchildren.
