(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 22, 2011, 10:12 am The Vidalia Advance 10-18-1984 Page 2A Mr. Emory Mixon Emory Maxwell "Mack' Mixon, age 53, and lifelong resident of Lyons, died at Meadows Memorial Hospital in Vidalia early Wednesday morning, October 10, 1984, after several weeks illness. He was the son of the late Gordon and Bell Tyson Mixon, and was a retired farmer and landowner. He was a member of the Methodist Church and a 1949 graduate of Lyons High School. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Luckie Lee Wilkes Mixon of Lyons; two daughters, Mrs. Ann Hutcheson, Lyons and Mrs. Kay Twomey, Marietta; one son, Bill Mixon, Lyons; and two grandchildren, Tonya Hutcheson and Matt Hutcheson of Lyons. Graveside services were conducted Thursday morning, October 11, 1984 at 11 o'clock at the family lot in Lyons City Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Blanchard officiated. Pallbearers were Herbert Bryant, Hardy Thomas, Charles Durst, Jimmy Mixon, W. L. Findley, and J. C. Wilkes. Trapnell-Jones Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
