                          Tapley Rites On Thursday
 Mr. Hubert (Doot) Tapley, age 54 of 103 Hilda Street, Vidalia, died Tuesday 
evening in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta after an extended 
illness. A native of Tattnall County, Mr. Tapley had resided most of his life 
in Toombs County. He was a carpenter, Veteran of World War II, a member of the 
Cedar Crossing Milligan Creek Lodge No. 302 F&AM, and attended the Tabernacle 
Baptist Church in Vidalia.
 Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bernistine Mosley Tapley of Vidalia; two 
daughters, Debra Kay and Tammy Faye Tapley, both of Vidalia; three sisters, 
Mrs. Doris Dot Galbreath and Mrs. Flossie Denton, both of Ailey, and Mrs. Ruby 
Mincey of Uvalda; two brothers, Mr. Elton Tapley of Tampa, Fla. and Mr. Ted 
Tapley of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
 Funeral services were held Thursday at 4:30pm from Tabernacle Baptist Church 
in Vidalia with the pastor, Rev. Jack T. Alderman and Rev. Kennedy Raley 
officiating. Interment was in Pinecrest Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
 Pallbearers were: Duane Galbreath, Lanier McGuin, Eugene Adams, Bobby Tapley, 
Terry Galbreath, and Kenneth Barrett. Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Home was in 
charge of arrangements.

Additional Comments:
Hubert was born 12-18-1921 to William Ander "Billy" Tapley and Mary Jane 
Foskey Tapley. Georgia death certificate #015314.
