Tyson in Vidalia. A lifelong resident of this county, he was the son of the late John and Jennie Moxley Tyson of Toombs County. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Smith Tyson of Vidalia; three sons, Joe M. Tyson, Vidalia, Willie Tyson and Noah Tyson of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Lockley of Lyons; six brothers, C. L. Tyson, Ohoopee, Andrew, Hardy, Aaron, and John of Vidalia, and Otis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; five sisters, Mrs. R. S. Wright, Mrs. James Wiggins, and Mrs. W. C. Spivey, all of Vidalia, Mrs. W. E. Womack of Langley, SC and Mrs. Gordon Mixon of Lyons. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from Harden's Chapel Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. John W. Lewis, Baxley, Rev. Kenny Hicks, Baxley, and Rev. Dan Walker of Vidalia. Burial was in the church cemetery with Trapnell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers were Lee Roy Tyson, Maxwell Mixon, Alvin Wright, Donnie Roscoe Sikes, James Edward Sikes, and J. W. Woods. Additional Comments: Joe was born 3 May 1896.
