Tyson, 55, of Lyons died Sunday at Meadows Memorial Hospital after a long illness. The Toombs County native was a Baptist. He was a farmer and was retired from Georgia Highway Department. Survivors are four sisters, Mrs. Naomi Godbee, Mrs. Mae Thompson, Mrs. Jeanette Galbreath, and Mrs. Lula Belle Thigpen, all of Lyons; three brothers, Henry and Earl Tyson, both of Lyons and Bernice Anderson of Surrency, Ark.; and several neices and nephews. Funeral 3pm Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home with burial in Ohoopee Cemetery. Additional Comments: John was born 27 Oct 1933. Georgia death certificate #017365. His father was Carswell Leland Tyson.
