The Toombs County native was a longtime resident of Savannah. He retired from Atlanta-Savannah Gas Light Co. in 1999 after 35 years. He was employed by Ferrell Gas. Co. He was a member of Pope Hunting Club in Bluffton and the National Rifle Association. He was a honey bee keeper and a member of American Beekeeping Association. SURVIVORS: his wife, Mary Anne Williams of Savannah; two sons, Jeffrey J. Williams of Savannah and John W. Williams of Statesboro; a sister, Lynell W. Gay of Savannah; a brother, Quinton Williams of Savannah; four grandchildren, Neal Gunby and Kristina L. Williams, both of Savannah and Malia Imle and Victoria S. Williams, both of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews. VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Monday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Island Chapel, and 2 p.m. at Hardin's Chapel Church near Lyons. Burial will be in Hardin's Chapel Cemetery.
