(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 17, 2011, 2:03 pm The Vidalia Advance 5-26-1983 Page 21A Mrs. Daisy Wykle Mrs. Daisy Marie Anderson Tyson Wykle, age 80, of the Ponderosa community and a native of Toombs County, died late Wednesday evening in the Meadows Memorial Hospital at Vidalia following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Ella McDilda Anderson and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Naomi Godbee, Mrs. Ila Mae Thompson, Mrs. Jeanette Galbraith, and Mrs. Lula Belle Thigpen, all of Lyons; four sons, Henry, John, and Earl Tyson, all of Lyons and Bernice Anderson of Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Willie Mae Tyson of Lyons; 18 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Daisy Marie Anderson Tyson Wykle were held at 2:00 Saturday in the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Gibbs and Rev. R. F. Faires officiating. Grandsons served as active pallbearers, Honorary bearers were: Sam McCullough, Thurman Copeland, A. D. Mayo, Jack Harden, Olin McGahee, W. A. Dickey, Johnny Coleman, S. A. Meeks, and J. C. Tyson. Interment was in the Ohoopee Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home of Lyons was in charge. Additional Comments: Daisy was born 20 Apr 1903. Georgia death certificate #024621. Her husband was Carswell Leland Tyson who is also buried in Ohoopee Cemetery.
