W.K. Hedden Dies Suddenly

Mr. W.K. Hedden, 81, died suddenly at his home here last Wednesday, November 
26. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church, Thursday afternoon, with 
Rev. E.C. Cowen and Dr. A.B. Greene in charge. Townsend Funeral Directors of 
Murphy (N.C.) had charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hedden once served as Ordinary of Towns County when he finished the 
unexpired term of Col. John M. Johnson. He was Justice Court Judge for several 
years. At the time of his death, he was Registrar of Vital Statistics for 
Towns County.

Survivors are: one brother, W.W. Hedden, 92, of Hiawassee; two daughters, Mrs. 
A.M. Gibson of Hiawassee and Mrs. H.A. Berrong of Atlanta; five sons, Edd, 
Frank, Fred and Ray Hedden of Hiawassee and Troy Hedden of Pontiac Mich. Mr. 
Hedden was a Mason, and a member of the Baptist Church for 60 years.
