Alvin Foskey, 28 year old white man of Gloverville was killed and a 38 year old woman Mrs. Mamie Wheeler is in the Aiken County hospital following a family argument yesterday morning. Two white men are in the Aiken County hospital following a "free-for-all" fight at Club 215 and a Negro, Clinton Cummings, was badly wounded in a fight on Cherokee Street Saturday night. Foskey was allegedly shot by his wife, Pauline Foskey yesterday morning when he came home in a drunken state after being out all night, according to Sheriff Price Fallaw. The sheriff reported that upon coming home, Foskey demanded that his wife cook him some breakfast and when she complied with his wishes and he refused to eat, an argument ensued. Mrs. Foskey said her husband dragged her outside where he began choking her. An Uncle Marvin Wheeler who lived next door, was reportedly attacked by Foskey with a pocket knife and when Mrs. Foskey feared for her uncle's life, she is reported to have started shooting with a 22- caliber pistol which was in the room. Five shots were allegedly fired. During the fracas, Mrs. Wheeler was injured. Mr. Foskey was brought to Aiken County hospital where he died at 3:45, according to Coroner Jimmy Gregory. He was shot twice in the back. Sheriff Fallaw said last night that Mrs. Foskey would be detained on charges of fatally injuring her husband. The Foskeys have four children. The shooting took place at their home at Sugar Hill which is next door to the housing project in Gloverville. Mr. Foskey was employed at the Seminole Mills Clearwater.
