                             Robert Carter
 Robert Carter, 70, Route 1 Adrian, died in a Swainsboro hospital Sunday, 
April 1, after a long illness.
 Mr. Carter was a resident of Jesup before moving to Treutlen County 10 years 
ago. He was a son of the late Jack Carter and the late Mrs. Nancy Morris 
Carter and was a member of Orianna Baptist Church.
 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Viola Foskey Carter; two sons, Jerry Carter 
and Don Carter, both of Adrian; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Smith of Jesup; two 
sisters, Mrs. Mae Connor and Mrs. Rochelle Melton, both of Houston, Texas; two 
brothers, Russell Carter of Jesup and Columbus Carter of Houston, Texas; 7 
grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services were conducted from Orianna Baptist Church at 3:30 Tuesday 
afternoon, April 3, with the Rev. Eddie Hilbun officiating. Burial was in 
Orianna Cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge.
 Pallbearers were George Robert Smith, Robert Carter, Elton Clark, Carlos 
Clark, Johnny Harris, ans Junior McDaniel.
 The honorary escort included James Garner, U. D. Braddy, Bob Rogers, Herbert 
Clark, Dr. Donald Kennedy, Richard Griffin, and Feltman Walker.

Robert was born 11-15-1908.
