                            Mrs. Laverene Harrison Drake
Mrs. Laverne Harrison Drake, age 72, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at Kentwood 
Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Platt's 
Belair Road Chapel with Rev. Ken Wilson officiating.
Survivors include one son, Joe Harrison of Houston, Texas; three brothers, 
Alton Sammons of Vidalia, Eugene Sammons of Bartow, Fla. and Roy Sammons of 
Savannah; one sister, Mrs. Nina S. O'Keefe of Deland, Fla.; one adopted sister, 
Amy Phillips of Grovetown; two grandchildren, Dustin and Jeremy Harrison of 
Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and one great-grandchild, Ocean Destiny Harrison of 
Surfside Beach, S.C.
A native of Soperton, Mrs. Drake was the daughter of the late Joseph Sammons 
and the late Vida Braddy Sammons. She was a member of Dearing Baptist Church 
and was retired as a Purchasing Agent with the University Health Care Systems.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 2623 
Washington Road, F-104, Augusta, GA. 30904.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial 
service.

LaVerne was born 20 Mar 1929 in Soperton, Ga. to Joseph A. Sammons and Vida 
Pauline Braddy Sammons. Her 1st husband was Henry Harrison and her 2nd husband 
was Unknown Drake.
