Mrs. Holton was born in Glascock County but had lived most of her life in Treutlen County. She was a daughter of the late G. W. Sammons and the late Mrs. Frances Black Sammons. She was married to the late Robert Lee (Bob) Holton and was a member of the Soperton Penetecostal Holiness Church. Survivors include a son, Darrell Holton, Soperton; two daughters, Mrs. Bernie Dean (Pat) Henderson and Mrs. Bessie Mae (John) Henderson, Brunswick; eight sisters, Mrs. Quillie Barwick and Mrs. Hattie Holton, Soperton, Mrs. Flossie Johnson, Mt. Dora, Fla., Mrs. Mosie Lee Tedrick, Daytona Beach, Fla., Mrs. Jewell Meeks, Sanford, Fla., Mrs. Wilma Perkins, Macon, Mrs. Grace Johnson and Mrs. Doris Holton, Atlanta; six brothers, Roscoe Sammons, Dublin, G. C. Sammons, Hugh Sammons, and Ronald Sammons, Soperton, Groytt Sammons, Augusta, and Herbert Hall, Adrian; six grandchildren, Mrs. Joy Kaase, Mrs. Judy Jones, and Mrs. Cathy Phillips, Macon, Zane Holton, Soperton, Mrs. Bobbie Whittington and Mrs. Jean Whiteside, Brunswick; 14 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great- grandchildren. Services were held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, April 5, with the Rev. James Bridges and the Rev. Leo Mombs officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Louie Sammons, Tullie Barwick, Jack Jolton, Loye Holton, William Crawford, and Alton Sammons. Additional Comments: Julia was born 5 Sep 1983. Georgia death certificate #013281. Her parents are buried in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Soperton, Georgia.
