L. Holton R. L. (Bob) Holton of Soperton died at his home April 21 after a long illness at the age of 70. The son of the late John F. and Leola Wood Holton, he was a retired farmer and state highway employee. Born in Washington County on Oct. 7, 1886, he had resided in Treutlen County approximately 53 years. Survovors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Sammons Holton; two daughters, Mrs. Obie Henderson and Mrs. Lawrence Cruz, of Brunswick; one son, Darrell Holton, Soperton; six grandchildren, Mrs. Dannie Whiteside and Mrs. Phil Bach, Brunswick, Joy, Judy, Cathie, and Zane Darrell Holton Jr., all of Soperton; two great-grandchildren; Ricky and Pam Bach of Brunswick; three brothers, C. R. Holton, San Angelo, Tex., Glen and Parker Holton, of Soperton; and one sister, Bannie Bell Holton, Soperton. Pallbearers were Alton Sammons, Tullie Barwick, Jack Holton, Lester Hutcheson, William Crawford, and Bill Sammons. Funeral services were held at Harmony Baptist Church on April 23. Burial was in Westview Cemetery in Soperton with the Rev. Ernest Seckinger and the Rev. Jesse Walls officiating ministers. Additional Comments: Georgia death certificate #09899.
