Mr. Holton was a native of Washington County and had lived in treutlen County for 70 years. He was the son of the late John Holton and the late Mrs. Leola Wood Holton. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of the Blackville Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hattie Sammons Holton; two sons, Jack R. Holton, Aiken, SC and Loye W. Holton, Augusta; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence A. Audet, Savannah; a brother, Parker Holton, Soperton; a sister, Miss Fannie Belle Holton, Soperton; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, November 16, with the Rev. Gordon Statum and the Rev. Edward Lowery officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Holton, Tullie Barwick, H. P. Barwick, Alton Sammons, Cooper Sammons, and Louie Sammons. The honorary escort included Rev. Leo Mimbs, Rev. Leon Palmer, Rev. Jessie Wall, Rev, Duel Keene, Rev. Robert Kight, Rev. J. A. Kight, Rev. Ted Miller, Rev. J. M. Carter, J. W. Herndon, Jim McDaniel, and Horace Harrell. Additional Comments: Glen was born 2 Apr 1896. Georgia death certificate #035584. His wife, Hattie Sammons Holton, is also buried in Westview Cemetery.
