                            Mrs. Mattie Lewis Horton
 Mrs. Mattie Lewis Horton, age 30, died Monday, November 25, in a Macon 
hospital.
 Mrs. Horton was born and reared in Soperton. She was a member of the Church of 
God of Latter Day Rain and was employed by the Soperton Manufacturing Company.
 Surviving are her husband, S. A. Horton Jr.; four sons, Andy, Lewis, Michael, 
and David Horton, all of Soperton; one daughter, Vickie Horton of Soperton; 
eleven sisters, Mrs. Henry Barwick, Mrs. R. L. Holton, and Mrs. Glenn Holton, 
all of Soperton, Mrs. Tom Kitchens of Columbia, SC, Mrs. Dennis Morris of 
Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Lee Sikes of Mt. Dora, Fla., Mrs. Lee Beck of Daytona 
Beach, Fla., Mrs. Phillip Meeks of Sanford, Fla., Mrs. C. W. Perkins of Macon, 
Mrs. Pealie Johnson of Dublin, and Mrs. H. H. Holton of Atlanta; eight 
brothers, Tom, Roscoe, Colledge, and Ronald Sammons and Herbert Hall, all of 
Soperton, Horace Sammons of Tampa, Fla., and Groyt and Hugh Sammons of 
Baltimore, MD.
 Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 29, at the Soperton Church 
of God of Latter Day Rain with the Rev. Robert Kight officiating. Burial will 
be in Harmony Cemetery in Treutlen County. Sammons Funeral Home in charge.

Additional Comments:
Mattie was born 12 Jan 1933 to George Washington "Crockett" Sammons and Georgia 
Kate Cooper Sammons, both buried in Harmony.
