Soperton News 9 Mar 1928 FP
                     Mrs. W. L. Kitchens Died Last Tuesday
 A sad death occurred last Tuesday when Mrs. W. L. Kitchens passed away at five 
o'clock at her home four miles north of Soperton. She had been in ill health 
for more than a month from acute Bright's Disease, but she seemed to be in a 
fair condition until about an hour before her death whne she was stricken with 
concussion of the brain.
 Mrs. Kitchens was born in Glascock County forth years ago. She was left an 
orphan at two years of age and was reared by her Uncle Mr. G. W. Sammons of 
this county, who is one of the surviving relatives.
 She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church and was a lady of strong 
Christian character, who will be sadly missed not only in her home, but in the 
community in which she resided.
 Besides her husband, she is survived by nine children, three girls and six 
boys. She is also survived by one brother, Mr. M. L. Toler.
 The funeral was held at Harmony Church in the forenoon, Rev. W. H. Stephens of 
Soperton conducting the services. Interment followed immediately after in the 
Harmony Cemetery.
 A wide circle of friends and acquaintances extend sympathy to the bereaved 
relatives in their sad hours.
