                              William L. Kitchens
 William Linton Kitchens, 82 of Soperton, died in a Swainsboro hospital Friday 
morning, November 19.
 Born and reared in Glascock County, Mr. Kitchens was a son of the late 
Lawrence Kitchens and Mrs. Lavina Wilder Kitchens. He had lived in Treutlen 
County for 60 years and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. A retired 
farmer, he was married to the late Mrs. Mary Leila Toler Kitchens.
 Surviving are seven sons, C. D. Kitchens of Moultrie, R. H. Kitchens of 
Tifton, W. L. Kitchens of Moultrie, Milan Kitchens of Omega, Ray Kitchens of 
Soperton, Thurman Kitchens of Omega, and Colon Kitchens of Vidalia; three 
daughters, Mrs. Fred Gillis of Swainsboro, Mrs. A. J. Peeples of Kiye, and Mrs. 
Edwin Hood of Kite; one step-daughter, Mrs. Collie Phillips of Hazelhurst; one 
brother, J. H. Kitchens of Atlanta; 34 grandchildren; and 20 great-
grandchildren.
 Funeral services were conducted at three o'clock Saturday November 20 at 
Harmony Baptist Church with rev. Frank Weigl of Swainsboro officiating, Burial 
was in the church cemetery with Sammons Funeral Home in charge. Grandsons 
served as pallbearers.
