(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net February 11, 2010, 2:12 pm The Dublin Courier Herald 7-20-1956 Front Page Mr. McDaniel Rites Sunday Final rites for William Jospeh McDaniel, 74, of Soperton, Route 3, will be held Sunday at 11am in the Red Bluff Baptist Church and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Elder J. M. Thomas, of Rockledge, will officiate with Sammons Funeral Home of Soperton directing. Mr. McDaniel, a farmer and member of the Primitive Baptist Church, was born and reared in Baldwin County, but had resided at his present address for the past 48 years. He died Thursday in a Soperton Hospital following a short illness. He was married to the former Susie Smith in 1902 and she survives him. Other survivors incude five sons, Joseph G. and Horace McDaniel of Greenville, Fla., John Henry, James D., and Lonnie McDaniel, all of Soperton; two daughters, Mrs. Viola Wilkins of Greenville, Fla. and Mrs. Julia Mae Johnson of Soperton; his step-mother, Mrs. Lizzie Drake of Dublin; four half sisters, Mrs. Trudie Canady of Savannah, Mrs. Lou Green and Mrs. Addie McGahee of Metter, Mrs. Bell Jewel of Fernandina, Fla.; two half brothers, Henry McDaniel of Dublin and Tommy McDaniel of Lake Worth, Fla.
