Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday, February 20th, at Red Bluff Church with the Rev. Petigo of Vidalia officiating. Sammons of Soperton will be in charge. Mr. Mimbs was a Laurens County farmer and had lived at Rockledge for the past seven years. He was a native of Johnson County and was a Baptist. He was married to the former Miss Daisy Powell. Survivors include his wife and seven sons; Raymond of Dublin, Clarence of Atlanta, Ed of Jacksonville, Monroe and Marvin of Kite, and Richard and Lamar of Rockledge; two stepsons, J. B. and Bill Evans of Dublin; four daughters, Misses Virginia and Alice Mimbs of Kite, Miss Doris Mimbs of Macon, and Mrs. Christine Smith of Vidalia; one sister, Mrs. Bethany Allen of Milledgeville. Additional Comments: George was born 29 Jul 1892 in Johnson County to Thomas 'Tom" B. Mimbs and Martha Foskey Mimbs Davis. His mother is also buried at Red Bluff.
