The Rev. Gordon Status and the Rev. Phil Wallace will officiate and burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Soperton. A native of Treutlen County, Mr. Mimbs was the son of the late Felder and Lessie Price Mimbs, was an Army veteran of World War II, and attended Blackville Church of God. He died Monday morning at his residence after a lengthy illness. Survivors include his wife, Amaryllis Martin Mimbs; a son, Kendall Mimbs; two daughters, Linda Gillis and JoAnn Collins, all of Soperton; three sisters, Valerie Heady of Aiken, SC, Dessie Mae Hicks of Atlanta, and Ella Jean Carter of Soperton; two brothers, the Rev. Leo Mimbs of Soperton and Parker Mimbs of Vidalia; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Virgil Brinson, Tommy Heath, Eddy Mimbs, R. T. Stanley, Phillip Jennings III, and Chan Carter. Bill Brown, Marvin Collins, Alex Grandler, Harold Dean Wright, Lamar Caneega, Jim Green, James B. Flanders, Jim L. Gillis Jr., Clayton Stephens, Wayne Hooks, R. T. Stanley Sr., Albert J. Collins, Bill Gillis, and Phillip West will serve as honorary escort. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Soperton tonight. Additional Comments: Manning was born 1-20-1926.
