                             Mary Lee Powell
 Mrs. Mary Lee Powell, 77, of Route 2 Soperton, died in the Treutlen County 
Nursing Home Sunday night, December 28, 1997.
 Mrs. Powell was born in Toombs County but had lived most of her life in 
Treutlen County. She was a daughter of the late Wesley Thomas Foskey and the 
late Idella Osborne Foskey and was married to the late Talmadge Powell. She 
was retired from Soperton Manufacturing Company and was a member of the 
Rosemont Baptist Church, Treutlen County.
 Survivors include three sons, Jerry Powell of Vidalia, Wendell Powell and 
Joey Powell, both of Soperton; a daughter, Jeanette Deese of Soperton; a 
brother, Verlie Foskey of Soperton; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-
grandchildren.
 Funeral services were conducted in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 
o'clock Wednesday morning, December 31. The Rev. Royce Braddy and the Rev. 
James Frost officiated. Burial followed in Westview Cemetery, Soperton.
 Active pallbearers were Wesley Powell, Justin Powell, Jeremy Powell, Mike 
Walker, Davis Deese, Wesley Foskey, Robert Drew, and Larry Drew.
 Sammons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
