Sammons Tom C. Sammons, 80 of Soperton, did Thursday morning, January 12. Mr. Sammons was a native of Glascock County and was a son of the late Crockett Sammons and the late Frances Black Sammons. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Treutlen County for 66 years. Survovors inclcude his wife, Mrs. Sallie Will Bridges Sammons; 3 sons, Dean Sammons, Bradenton, Fla., Bill Sammons, Fellsmere, Fla., and Colon Sammons, Soperton; 3 daughters, Miss Daisy Sammons, Soperton, Mrs. Mervin Warnock, Tarrytown, and Mrs. Lois Brown, Mt. Vernon; another daughter, Mrs. Faye Crawford preceded him in death; 1 son- in -law, Bill Crawford of Soperton; 11 sisters, Mrs. Quillie Barwick, Mrs. Ada Holton, and Mrs. Hattie Holton, Soperton, Mrs. Bertha Morris, Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Eva Kitchens, Ridgeway, SC, Mrs. Flossie Johnson, Florida, Mrs. Mosie Lee Beck, Daytona Beach, Fla., Mrs. Jewell Meeks, Sanford, Fla., Mrs. Wilma Perkins, Byron, Mrs. Grace Johnson, East Point, and Mrs. Dora Holton, Atlanta; 7 brothers, Horace Sammons, Lutz, Fla., Roscoe Sammons, Dublin, Hugh Sammons, MD, Groyt Sammons, Augusta, and Herbert Hall, Adrian; 9 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon with the Rev. Gene Brooks officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Alton Sammons, H. P. Barwick, Tullie Barwick, ___ Sammons, Jack Holton, and Loyoe Holton. Additional Comments: Tom was born 15 Sep 1897. Georgia death certificate #001065. His wife, Sallie, is also buried in Westview. His parents are buried in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
