The Revs. Quint Sheppard and John Price will officiate. Mrs. Sammons was a native of Treutlen County where she lived until 1972 when she moved to East Dublin. She was the daughter of the late John G. and Anna Smith Morris. She was a homemaker and member of the Soperton Church of God. She was active in local churches, taught Sunday school, and had a gospel radio program for many years. In 1969 she was ordained as a minister with the Emanuel Holiness Organazation. She and her late husband founded and pastored the Forest Hills Church of God in East Dublin and the Emanuel Holiness Church of God in Dublin. Her husband and son, the late Rev. Roscoe L. Sammons and the late Larry Sammons, preceded her in death. She died Monday. Survivors include a son, Louie Sammons of East Dublin; five daughters, Sylvia Spivey and Jerry Davis, both of East Dublin, Shirley Thompson of Vidalia, Miriam Mincey of Statesboro, and Merita Smith of Augusta; sister, Gladys Edge of Soperton; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Rev. Nolan McDaniel, Rev. James Harrison, Rev. Travis Cox, Rev. David Oldham, Rev. Scott Rogers, Drexel Braddy, Danny Watson, and Herbert Morris Jr. The family will be reached at the home of Melvin and Jerry Davis, 212 Lakeside Drive, East Dublin.
