Tedrick died of heart failure Saturday (July 31, 2004) at her home. She was 94. Born July 4, 1910, in Soperton, Ga., she came to Haines City from Daytona Beach in 1992. She was a cook and waitress. She was a Protestant. Mrs. Tedrick was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Tedrick. She is survived by her daughters, Frances G. Owen, Haines City, Elva E. Balentine, Orlando; sisters, Flossie Johnson, Tavares, Jewell Meeks, Havana, Dot Holton, Atlanta, Ga., Grace Johnson, Conyers, Ga.; brothers, Herbert Hall, Coolidge Sammons, Hugh Sammons and Ronald Sammons, all of Soperton, Ga.; Groyt Sammons, South Carolina; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Higgs Funeral Home, Soperton. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Steele's Family Funeral Services, Winter Haven.
