(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net April 7, 2009, 3:07 pm The Soperton News 3-15-1978 Page 10 Thad Swain Williams Thad Swain Williams, 68, of Route 1 Soperton, died in a Dublin hospital Friday night, March 19, after a long illness. Mr. Williams was a native of Milan and was a former resident of Adrian. He was a son of the late Henry C. Williams and the late Mrs. Tincye Drew Williams. He was a retired civil service employee of Robins Air Force Base and was a former Naval Stores Operator. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Effie M. Foskey Williams; two daughters, Mrs. Thad Askew of Warner Robins and Mrs. Debbie Watts of Soperton; and 4 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 12, with the Rev. Leo Mimbs officiating. Burial was in Midway United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chan Carter, Viroy Canady, James Edward Willis, Virgil Norris Jr., Wayne Sumner, and Gerald Askew. The honorary escort included Clayton Stevens, Leon Braddy, Bobby Driggers, joe Mullis, Clifford Thompson, J. W. Rogers Jr., Curtis Rogers Sr., J. H. Garner, Jack Sweat, and W. W. Kea.
