Georgia Troup County
     This Indenture made and entered into this First day of January eighteen 
Hundred and Forty between Mary G. Leverett of the County and State first 
mentioned of the one part and Gideon Leverett of the State and County 
aforesaid.  Witnesseth that the [said]  Mary G. Leverett for and in 
consideration of the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by the 
said Gideon Leverett the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained 
sold and delivered and by these presence doth bargain sell and convey and 
confirm unto the said Gideon Leverett his heirs and assigns a certain Lot or 
parcel of Land lying in the fifth district of Troup county known and 
distinguished in the plan of said district as the West half of Lot of Land No. 
(195) One Hundred and Ninety five containing One Hundred One a fourth acres 
more or less.  To Have and hold the aforesaid bargained premises unto Gideon 
Leverett his heirs and assigns forever.  And I the said Mary G.Leverett for 
myself my heirs Executors and Administrators shall and will warrant and defend 
the same against all person or persons whatever unto the said Gideon Leverett 
his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns and by these presents.  In 
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the First 
day of January in year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred Forty.
