Indenture bet Miles Pitts & G.W. Ruffin 12 Oct 1801  Troup County, GA

This Indenture made this the twelfth day of October 1801, between Miles
Pitts and his wife, Eliza E. Pitts of Troup Co. - G.W. Ruffin of Upson Co, 
GA witneseth that the said MILES PITTS and wife for and in consideration 
of the sum of $75.00 Seventy Five Dollars, the receipt is hereby 
acknowledged, does hereby sell and convey unto the said G.W. RUFFIN, his 
heirs and assings a certain tract or lot of land situated in the County of 
Upson the 15th District and bounded as follows:  East by the lands
of MC McGraw,   South by the lands of Pink Hilaby.  West by the lands of 
Dr. W. Means. North by the lands of C. Comsey, containing fifty acres 
(50) more or less known as WIDOW RUFFIN place No. 160 together with all 
the rights and priviles there unto belonging in Fee Simple and the said 
MILES W. PITTS and his wife, Eliza E. PITTS, their heirs, executors and 
administrators, the title to the premises afroesaid will forever warrant 
and defend to the said G.W. Ruffin, his heirs, and assigns, against
the lawful claims of all persons.  In Witness whereof the said Miles W. 
PITTS and his wife, Eliza E. PITTS have hereunto set thier hands and seals 
the day and year aforesaid.
