Carrollton, Carroll Co., Georgia NEWSPAPER Issue of Friday, DECEMBER 10, 1880 The LaGrange Reporter reports that Mr. Benjamin F. Johnson who was the first man born in Troup County, was in that town on Saturday. He is now fifty-five years old and is a resident of Atlanta. Mr. Johnson's mother will be one hundred years old within a week or two. She now lives in the house in which her son was born, about three miles west of LaGrange. She was the first white woman that came to Troup county and at that time, the county was filled with Indians.
