LaGrange Reporter November 12, 1885
We learned that Mr. William H. Sloan who lives on Mr. E.A. Reid's place, over
the river, on Wednesday night of last week, in a fit of mental aberration,
tried to take his own life. He first made an effort to cut his throat, but,
failing in that, beat his head against the fireplace. He is said to be better
now. We hope he will entirely recover his mental health.
