Deaths

Johnny B. Beckom

LaGrange, Ga. – Johnny B. Beckom, 66, of LaGrange died Friday at City-County 
Hospital in LaGrange.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today from the Westside Church of God.  
Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.

Mr. Beckom was born Dec. 1, 1906, in Coweta County, Ga., son of the late 
Johnny and Rosa Lee Donaldson Beckom.

He had been a resident of LaGrange for the past 18 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Johnny B. Beckom, LaGrange; five daughters, 
Mrs. Billy Peterman, Athens, Ga., Mrs. Richard South, Columbus, Mrs. Ida 
Smallwood, Hapeville, Ga., Miss Catherine Beckom, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Miss 
Carolyn Beckom, LaGrange; eight sons, Johnny Milton Beckom and Bobby Beckom, 
both of LaGrange, James Beckom, Fayetteville, Ga., Jackie Beckom, Larry 
Beckom, Perry Beckom and Tommy Beckom, all of Atlanta, and Dickie Beckom, 
Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Watts, Atlanta and Mrs. Irene Jones, 
Griffin, Ga.; three brothers, Tommy Lee Beckom, Haralson, Ga., Grady Beckom, 
Newnan, Ga., and Harold Beckom, Atlanta.
