MR. GILLILAND LOSES A SISTER, MRS. CHATFIELD

Mr. John U. Gilliland had the sad misfortune to lose by death a sister, Mrs. 
Wm. R. Chatfield, whose death occurred Sunday in a hospital in LaGrange, 
where she had undergone an operation. The remains were brought to LaFayette 
for interment on Tuesday morning. The deceased leaves a husband and a number 
of children. Mrs. Chatfield attended school in Roanoke in girlhood and is 
pleasantly remembered by some of our people. She was an excellent christian 
lady and her death is an irreparable loss to her family, her church and 
community.
