Mrs. Allen J. Driver, Roanoke, Ala.

West Point, Ga., June 29 - (Special) - The remains of Mrs. Allen J. Driver, who 
died after a protracted illness at her home in Roanoke, Ala., yesterday, were 
brought here this morning for interment in Pinewood cemetery.  Mrs. Driver, as 
Miss Anna Smith, was formerly a resident of West Point and will be remembered 
by a great many old inhabitants of this place.  Her husband, three children, 
one brother, Captain Jim Smith, of Gainesville, and two sisters, Mrs. Finney, 
of LaFayette, and Mrs. Emma Lanier, of this place, survive her.

NEWSPAPER Issue of Wednesday, June 28, 1899

A SAD DEATH

About 9 o'clock this morning the community was shocked by the death of Mrs. A. 
J. Driver Sr. at her home in this place. She had been ill only since Sunday, 
though in feeble health for a number of years past. She leaves a husband and 
several children who are overwhelmed with grief at their great loss. The heart 
of the community beats in sympathy with them.
