W. Lanier (s/b Lamar) Mrs. C. W. Lanier (s/b Lamar), West Point, died at a private hospital last night at 11 o'clock, The body was removed to Patterson's chapel. Mrs. Lanier is survived by two daughters, Mrs. George H. Lanier, West Point, and Mrs. H. Q. Fletcher, Chattanooga; three sons, Frank, Nichols and C. W. Lanier (s/b Lamar), Jr., and one brother, W. D. Nichols. - - - Issue of Wednesday, September 22, 1915 Mrs. C. W. Lamar, Americus Americus, Ga., September 21 - [Special] Mrs. Charles W. Lamar, who died last night in Atlanta, was prominently known in Americus, where the family has long resided among the best known here. Mrs. Lamar as the widow of C. W. Lamar and is survived by five sons and daughters. She was formerly Miss Josephine Nichols, of Montezuma [Dooly Co.] Funeral services will be conducted here Wednesday afternoon. Additional Comments: This is Josephine Elizabeth Nichols, wife of Charles Winn Lamar. They were married on March 3, 1880 in Dooly Co., Georgia. She was born on 13 February 1862 and was the daughter of Harrison Nichols and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Freeman. Josephine and Charles were my husband's GG Grandparents. Their daughter, Marie Lamar, married George Huguley Lanier of West Point, Georgia / Lanett, Alabama. Their other daughter, Ruth Lamar, married Henry Quigg Fletcher. She and Charles are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus, Sumter Co., Georgia.
