H. Lanier, Americus Americus, Ga., October 12 (Special) William Henry Lanier, aged 54 years, and prominent wholesale grocer of Americus, died this morning after an illness of three weeks with heart affection. The deceased was reared in West Point and was connected with the well-known Lanier family there. With his brother and business associate, Frank Lanier, he had been successfully engaged in business here more than twenty years, and esteemed among the prominent men of southwestern Georgia. His wife and son, Frank Lanier, Jr., by a former marriage survive him. Funeral services will be conducted here Wednesday morning. Additional Comments: Son of William Henry Lanier (d. in Civil War) and Susan (Lawson) Lanier. Married 1st, Leman/Leaman Poer, had one son, Frank Lanier, Jr. (yes, he was called Frank Lanier, Jr. even though he wasn't truly a Jr). Married 2nd to Fonda Gilbert, no children.
