John T. Nichols of LaGrange, 86, died Monday at his home in LaGrange after 
several months of failing health. A resident of LaGrange for the past two years. 
Mr. Nichols was born and reared in Abbottsford and had spent most of his life in 
that community. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. H. N. Gunn, of Birmingham, 
Mrs. Leila Moore, of Palm Beach, Mrs. Sarah Martin, of LaGrange, Mrs. Mamie 
Whitaker, of LaGrange and Mrs. W. P. Landreth of Lanett, four sons. J. Joe and 
Tom Nichols, all of Lanett and Jesse Nichols, of LaGrange, and several 
grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 
Harmony Church in Abbottsford and interment was in the churchyard under direction 
of Johnson and Blakely.
