The Lagrange Reporter
The La Grange Reporter Dec. 15, 1881

Married at the residence of the bride's mother -- the late Mrs. Sarah T. Sloan
on Sunday morning, the 11th inst, by Rev F.M.T. Brannon, Mr. W.F. Fannin and
Miss Mary A. Sloan, all of Troup County.

From the altar where they pledged their troth the happy couple rode to Midway
church, there they attended divine service; thence to the residence of the
bride's brother - Mr. J.L. Sloan -- where a bountiful dinner was served in their
honor. May they never feel the blight of sorrow and may life's waters be always
smooth to their sailing.
