Sloan on Sunday morning, the 11th by Rev. F.M.T. Brannon. Mr.W.F.Fannin and Miss Mary A.Sloan, all of Troup County. From the alter where they pledged their troth, the happy couple rode to Midway church, where they attended divine service; thence to the residence of the bride's brother-Mr.Jesse Louis Sloan-where a bountiful dinner was served in their honor. May they never feel the blight of sorrow and may life's waters be always smooth to their sailing.. Additional Comments: Sarah T. (Davis) Sloan was the wife of Lewis R. Sloan who was killed in the Civil War at Winchester, Va. on Sept.16,1864. They had 8 children.
