Washington, Oct. 10 - Mr. and Mrs. William Jerome Vereen of Moultrie, Ga., have 
announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Rosalind Vereen, to George 
Huguley Lanier, Jr., of New York.  The marriage will take place on Nov. 14, at 
the First Presbyterian Church in Moultrie.

Miss Vereen is a graduate of Mount Vernon Seminary and a frequent visitor in 
Washington where she spent much time with her father when the latter was 
serving as a member of the executive committee of the National Advisery Board 
of the NRA.  Mr. Vereen is a former president of the American Cotton 
Manufacturing Association.

Mr. Lanier is the son of George Huguley Lanier, president of the West Point 
(Georgia) Manucaturing Company, and Mrs. Lanier, who was Miss Marie Lamar of 
Americus, Ga.  He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and is a 
member of Phi Delta Theta.  He specialized in the Philadelphia Textile School 
and is now with J. B. Warne, Inc., of New York.

Miss Vereen is the sister of Mrs. T. A. Huguein of Charleston, S. C., and of 
William C. Vereen 2d and Thomas J. Vereen of Moultrie.  Her mother is the 
former Miss Lottie Thompson of Thomaston, Ga.
