Will of Elizabeth A. Cotton, Troup CO. GA Submitted by Angela Packer Will of Elizabeth COTTON State of Georgia, Troup County Last Will of Elizabeth A. Cotton I Elizabeth A. Cotton, wife of William G. Cotton, of the County and State aforesaid, do make and ordain this as my last Will and Testament, as I am desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength and mind to do so. And first I commit my soil to God who gave it and my body I desire to be buried as my friends may wish and my worldly effects I dispose of as follows: My family Bible, hymn book and (diseifluce?), together with a record of the Carlisle family in handwriting of may former husband Obed Perry, I give unto my beloved nephew Joel M. Carlisle. To my beloved husband William G. Cotton, I give and bequeath two mattresses, two undersheets, our checked (counterfrin?), two brown blankets, two quilts, two black coverlids and two pillows- it being the bedding used by us since our marriage. My interest in my former husbands Obed Perry's Estate, I give and bequeath unto my brother William W. Carlisle and my sister Martha N. Dewberry, to be equally divided between them also to my brother W. W. Carlisle, our note of hands given by him to me, dated July 3rd 1868. My Rocking chair, I give to my beloved niece Susan A. Wise. To my beloved sister Martha N. Dewberry, I give and bequeath all bedding, bed clothes, wearing clothes, Trunks, chests and chairs not already and otherwise disposed of. I do also hereby appoint and request my beloved brother William W. Carlisle as my Executor to execute and carry out this my last Will and Testament. In witness where of, I the said Elizabeth A. Cotton have to this my will, set my hands and seal, this 24th day of March 1874. E. A. Cotton Signed, Sealed and Delivered by the above named Elizabeth A. A. Palmer Georgia, Troup County Court, Personally came before me J. S. Sappington, one of the subserbing witnesses to the within paper writing, purporting to be last Will and Testament of E. A. Cotton died, who being duly sworn saith that he was present and saw Mrs. E.A. Cotton aforesaid, sign, seal... *Note* This is the second wife of our William G. Cotton. They married after 1861. He had no Will. William died in 1878 and his Estate was petitioned by several people of which included Pleasant Cotton and Caroline Slam. Portion of record follows. Cotton propounded by P. G. Cotton, and covatted by Caroline Slam after Et Al, having been appointed by consent at the December adjournment Term 1878, and said estate being thereby unrepresented, and great loss and injury may happen to said estate unless temporary administration: It is ordered that J. E. Toole Clerk of the Superior Court, be and is herby appointed temporary administrator on the estate of W. G.
