About a week ago Theodore Ashburn, a freight conductor on the North and South road of Alabam, was instantly killed by the engine of a passenger train running into his caboose. He had failed to put out the proper signal. Mr. Ashburn was a son of George W. Ashburn, whose tragic death occurred in Columbus several years since. He was at one time connected with the State Road, and was represented as an Industrious and hard- working man. Additional Comments: I came across this article on the internet and after reading it though Theodore Ashburn to possibly be the son of the very same George W. Ashburn who founded Turner County, Georgia. I do not actually have a copy of this article.
