The Atlanta Semi-Weekly Journal November 3, 1914
Ashburn, Ga., Oct. 30. -- The United Daughters of the Confederacy of Turner 
county have shown their interest in the buy-a-bale movement by purchasing the 
past week a bale of cotton at 10 cents a pound.  They bought their bale from 
Mr. E. J. Hodge, an old Confederate veteran.
