LAKELAND -- Mr. Earl Johnny Murphy of Lakeland died of heart failure Friday 
(Jan. 28, 2005) at Tandem Health Care, Lake Parker. He was 79.
Born April 21, 1925, in Ashburn, Ga., he came here from Ashburn in 1957. He 
was a grounds foreman for the city of Lakeland Parks and Recreation for 29 
years.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Murphy; daughters, Wanda LeGer 
and Charlene LeGer, both of Lakeland; son, Chuck Hallman, Polk City; sister, 
Rosa Mae Kirkland, Nashville, Ga.; six grandchildren; and five great-
grandchildren.
Visitation will be this evening at 6 at Lanier Funeral Home Chapel, Lakeland. 
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
