Pye, 67, of 303 Mulberry Ave., died this morning at his home. Mr. Pye had been a resident of Albany since 1920. He was born July 19, 1896, in Turner County and was the son of Donnie Willis Pye and the late John B. Pye. Mr. Pye was a former member of the Albany Police Department, having served on the force for nine years. He also owned and operated a restaurant and grocery. He was a member of the First Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Hancock Pye of Albany; a son, the Rev. C. W. Hancock of Savannah; his mother, Mrs. John B. Pye of Moultrie; a sister, Mrs Lula Farmer of California; two brothers, Clifford Pye of Sylvester and W. A. Pye of Lakeland, Fla., and four grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a. m. in the chapel of the First Methodist Church by Rev. Frederick Wilson, the Rev. L. A. Harrell and Rev. Ed Carruth, interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Denson, Roy Land, Fred Cross, G. T. Hall, Jr., James Faircloth and R. L. Grimes. The Baraca Sunday School Class of the First Methodist Church will attend in a body. Kinbrell-Stern, Funeral directors, are in charge of arrangements.
