No information is available about her now . Chesley's father was John Parker who later moved to Twiggs County in about 1816 after his wife gave birth to his daughter Mazy was born . For many years our family thought Chesley was white but he was half black and half white a mulatto . Chesley owned land across from the Vincent Tharp house , there is a state marker outside that house and it states that John Parker bought the property for $600.00 in 1832 and Chesley Parker and his wife Venus Curtis along with their children lived across the roadway , where it is Parker Rd today . These were free people of color that lived in Twiggs County GA . On one of the census their children had the last name Curtis after their mother and on the next Census they had their father last name Parker . My 2nd great grandfather Chesley Jr. was the first black deacon ordained at Stone Creek Baptist Church around 1860 when the whites and blacks attended the same church and Owned most of the property on both sides of Parker Rd .He also donated 1 acre of his land so that the black population could build their own Stone Creek Baptist Church .
