HUGHES CEMETERY

This cemetery is located about one mile south of
Higgsville Church (colored) on lands of the Estate of
Ben Jones.

To the memory of Elizabeth, wife of Haywood Hughes.
Born 3/16/1823, died July 16, 1853.  "Few have ever
lived a more exemplary life, or died with brighter
hopes of a blessed immortality."

Cherry Ann, daughter of Haywood and Elizabeth Hughes,
age 6 yrs.

Augustus G., son of Haywood and Elizabeth Hughes,
died October 9, 1852, age 11 months, 21 days.

Infant son of Haywood and Elizabeth Hughes, born
January 6, 1853, died July 16, 1853.
