Charter members, families of Pink Mercer, Tilman Joiner, Dan Ryles, Bill Edmonson, WILLIAM GRIFFIN and W.H. Stokes. First Pastor, Rev. Dennis O. Driscal in 1873. The completion of the Church was celebrated with a Masonic rally and barbecue, with well over a hundred in attendance. The original Church was destroyed by a tornado April 30th, 1953, but was rebuilt by December 25th, 1953. Reverend J.R. Thomas, present pastor. William Griffin (January 8, 1825 – November 23, 1884) was the son of Etheldred Griffin and Malinda Burton. He was married to the former Mary E.
