Bethune, 59, who died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at his home near Cary will be held at 4pm Wednesday at Cool Springs Baptist Church. Elder E. D. Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He was born in Pike County, but has lived most of his life in Bleckley County where he was engaged in farming. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. C. S. Bethune; three sons, R. H. Bethune, Fernandina Beach, Fla, Cleveland Bethune of Warner Robins, and Ralph Bethune of Savannah; five daughters, Mrs. Fred C. Jacobs of Fernandina Beach Fla., Mrs. Jack Walton of McIntyre, Mrs. Meldon Phillips of Cochran, Miss Betty Bethune of Cochran, and Miss Anice Bethune of Cochran; nine sisters and 13 grandchildren.
