(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net November 21, 2013, 2:07 pm The Delaware County Daily Times 4-3-1969 P4 Carter Egliscus Carter, 65, who for the last 60 years had been employed in the tool department of General Motors Corp. in Wilmington, died Wednesday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Chester, after an illness of several days. He lived at 148 Garnet Mine Road, Concord. Mr. Carter lived most of his life in Delaware County and for more than 30 years at the Garnet Mine Road address. In 1927, he married the former Anna M. Wilkers. She died seven months ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Samuel A. Jamison and Mrs. Richard L. Smith, both of Linwood; a son, James C. with whom he made his home; a sister, Mrs. Aloha Rohr; three brothers, Colothree, Perue, and Zerunion Carter, all of Macon, Ga.; and eight grandchildren. Services will be 10am Saturday at the Robert Moreland Funeral Home, 9th and Main Sts., Trainer. Burial will be in Lawn Croft Cemetery, Lower Chichester.
